Mr. Restuccia’s years of success in these diverse environments highlight his strategic and tactical leadership capabilities that foster team building, collaboration and the delivery of exceptional services to customers and clients.
Leveraging his prior years’ experience, MedMatica Consulting Associates (“MedMatica”) provided healthcare information technology consulting services to healthcare provider and payer organizations. Growing from a start-up to averaging over $16m in annual revenues with above industry average net margins, MedMatica was recognized in multiple years by KLAS Research for the consistent delivery of high quality services that exceeded client expectations. MedMatica experienced explosive growth as the firm supported its clients’ most opportunistic challenges and was repeatedly recognized as a member of the Inc. 5,000 Fastest Growing Organizations within the United States and the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing organizations in the southeastern Pennsylvania. Ultimately, Mr. Restuccia transitioned ownership of MedMatica in 2017.
Arriving at Penn Medicine in 2006 as an information services (IS) strategic advisor, Mike transitioned to lead the department and become a member of the organization’s executive team as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Today, managing an annual operating budget of $300m along with significant capital investments, the IS department has grown from a mostly outsourced service model to a nationally recognized insourced team of more than 1,000 professionals maintaining an average employee retention rate exceeding 96% over the past 10 years.
Under Mr. Restuccia’s visionary stewardship, Penn Medicine has transformed into a technology driven state-of-the-art healthcare system that is a standard bearer for the nation. Enablement of Penn Medicine’s pioneering work in groundbreaking fields such as mRNA, CAR-T therapy, immune health, and genomics stand as a testament to his unyielding commitment to pushing the boundaries of how technology propels medical science innovation. In addition, Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other digital innovations have not only improved patient outcomes but also accelerated research discoveries and optimized hospital operations.
During Mr. Restuccia’s tenure, Penn Medicine has been recognized for the past 14 consecutive years as a College of Healthcare Information Management Executive (CHIME) Most Wired organization. Mr. Restuccia also attained individual recognition as a multi-year winner of CIO Magazine’s Chief Information Officer Award. Additionally, he received the ORBIE Award as the leading healthcare information technology executive in the Pennsylvania region. Presently, Mr. Restuccia serves in an advisory capacity for several start-up healthcare technology firms (Hummingbird Healthcare and Excell HCA) along with the mentoring of new healthcare information technology services leaders.
